3 Games to look forward to in 2019
A lot of games are coming out in 2019, but I think that these 3 will really have a great impact on my game playing hours! Let’s dive in 🙂
Team Sonic Racing
This is definitely the first game that I have been looking forward to! It came out only a few days ago but I started playing it already! (Watch a live gameplay HERE! with my friend LokmanVideo)
As Nintendolife.com says, very few developers have perfected the art of arcade-style handling like Sumo, and its first attempt at a Sonic karting game – Sonic & Sega All-Stars Racing – was a surprisingly fun speed-fest that paid tribute to Sega heroes past and present. Its clumsily-named sequel Sonic & All-Stars Racing Transformed was even better; with its morphing vehicles and ‘living’ tracks that changed each lap, it may not quite have been up to Mario Kart’s lofty standards but it certainly took the genre further in terms of innovation.
As the name suggests, the main gimmick in Team Sonic Racing is the ability to race in teams of three. Whereas most races fit the usual leaderboard style points system (15 for a win, 12 for second etc), this time the winner isn’t the racer who finished first, but the team whose combined points total is highest. It’s all well and good taking the chequered flag, then, but if your partners trundle in at 5th and 7th while another team puts in a solid 2nd-3rd-4th performance, the other mob will get the win.
I am definitely looking forward to playing this game more and more!
Final Fantasy VII remake
I have been a Final Fantasy fanatic since when FFVII came out for PS1. I love the way Square Enix creates compelling stories and amazing battles that keep you glued to your seat for endless sleepless nights… oh .. highschool times!
There are rumours that FFVII Remake is due to come out between October and December 2019, but I think we will surely know more once Square Enix will announce all their news at this year’s E3 in June.
Final Fantasy VII Remake, retells the story of the original game, following our hero Cloud Strife, a former Shinra soldier who joins the AVALANCHE group as a mercenary to fight against the Shinra corporation, who have been draining the planet’s life energy, only to find himself involved in a way bigger mess. This version of the game is completely remade from scratch, unlike ports of the original game released for computers and other high-definition platforms.
The first footage was shown in 2015 and helped demonstrate both exploration and battle mechanics, which both take place in real-time like in the latest games of the series. The battle system is in real time, similarly to the Kingdom Hearts series, unlike the “Active Time Battle” system of the original version. Thanks to the real time battle system, players are free to control Cloud or one of his allies as they attack enemies. Magic, Summons and Limit Breaks are also still part of the FFVII world, ready to be used for powerful attacks against monsters.Â
Sounds like this is going to be an insane game!
Super Mario Maker 2
It’s no secret that Super Mario has always been one of my favourites (Obviously after Pac Man 😉 ). I am really excited about this game as the first one was an extreme success and so much fun to play!
As Nintendo says on the game description, you can now play, create, and share the side-scrolling Super Mario courses of your dreams in the Super Mario Maker 2 game, available exclusively on the Nintendo Switch system! Dive into the single-player Story Mode and play built-in courses to rebuild Princess Peach’s castle. Make your own courses, alone or together. And with a Nintendo Switch Online membership, share your courses, access a near-endless supply made by others, enjoy online multiplayer, and more!
A new side-scrolling Mario adventure that unleashes the creative potential of Super Mario Maker 2 awaits in Story Mode, which contains over 100 built-in courses. And in Course Maker, a wide range of parts, tools, and more are available so you can construct your own courses. Want coin-shooting cannons? Bowser riding on a giant Goomba? Cat Mario sliding down slopes to take out an army of baddies? Go for it! You call the shots. Pass a Joy-Con controller to a partner to build cooperatively on a single system!
Power-up the fun even further with a Nintendo Switch Online membership, which gives you access to Course World and its wealth of online content and functionality. Track your rankings, share your creations, and leave comments after you’ve played courses. With a Nintendo Switch Online membership, you can also tackle Endless Challenge, save online courses locally for later offline play, enjoy online multiplayer with players both near and far, and customize how you appear to others by dressing your Mii character with fun accessories!
Sounds like this is going to be a lot of fun. The game is coming out on June 28th 2019 and I can’t wait!
